v5.2.0

New feature ✨

Scheduled tasks

Run a chat prompt on a schedule: once, daily, on weekdays, weekly, monthly or yearly, with optional start and end dates. Each run is a new chat, so results are waiting when you come back.

  • Create a task from a form, from a template, or by asking for it in chat
  • Every run opens a new conversation, listed under the task's History; Run now starts one by hand
  • Choose Auto, which skips tools that wait for an answer, or Ask, which lets a run pause for your input
  • Ten starter templates, such as Morning briefing and Weekly work summary, managed by admins like other templates
  • A per-plan cap on the number of tasks: blank means unlimited, 0 switches the feature off for the plan
  • Workspace owners can see and delete their members' tasks
  • Admins switch it on under Settings β†’ Chat. Runs are billed like chat replies and need cron
New feature ✨

Notifications

A notification bell and built-in browser alerts tell users when their work is done, so they can leave a long reply or generation running and come back to it.

  • Notifications when a chat reply or an image, video, voice-over or transcript finishes, fails or needs your input, and when a scheduled task finishes or fails
  • Browser push alerts built in, with no third-party service and no keys to set up
  • Unread state in the bell and a shortcut to open it (Ctrl/⌘ + Shift + B)
  • Users choose which kinds they receive under Settings β†’ Notifications
  • Admins can switch browser alerts off and set how long notifications are kept under Settings β†’ Notifications
  • Chat replies now finish even after the user leaves the page
New feature ✨

Background job queue and scheduler

Slow work such as invoicing, emails and scheduled tasks now runs in the background. Jobs are kept in the database by default, so nothing new is needed on shared hosting.

  • Jobs page with waiting and failed jobs, search, and retry or delete for one or all
  • Workers page to see and restart running workers
  • Settings β†’ Queue shows the queue at a glance and gives ready-made Supervisor and systemd configs for an optional worker
  • Cron runs every scheduled task with locking and works the queue itself when no worker is running
  • Queue and Cron rows on the Status page
  • Subscriptions that fell behind while cron was down are now renewed once, not once for every missed period
New plugin 🧩

Queue Adapters

Keep background jobs in Redis, Amazon SQS, Azure Queue Storage or Cloudflare Queues instead of your database. Saving a connection tests it first, and running workers switch over on their own. Requires Aikeedo 5.2 or later.

New feature ✨

Invoicing and checkout details

Billing gains an invoicing layer and collects the details businesses need on their receipts.

  • Choose an invoicing engine under Settings β†’ Billing; engines are plugins that connect an accounting or e-invoicing system
  • Invoice status and a download button on customer and admin order pages
  • Failed invoices are retried automatically with growing intervals, and admins can retry or create one by hand
  • Purchase confirmation email for paid orders, with the invoice attached when an engine issues one, and an Invoice ready email if it comes later
  • Optional Tax ID and an I'm buying as a business option at checkout
  • Country-aware states and regions, postal codes only where the country uses them, and a validated phone number field
  • The billing country is pre-selected from the signup country or the visitor's location
  • Custom currency rates under Settings β†’ Exchange β†’ Custom rates override the rate provider wherever amounts are converted
New feature ✨

Email settings

Settings β†’ Emails lists every transactional email, from core and plugins, with a desktop and mobile preview. Admins can switch each one off; verification, password reset and data export emails always stay on.

New feature ✨

Web search and reading providers

Choose how chat searches the web and reads pages and files, under Settings β†’ Chat.

  • Web search with Serper, Jina or Perplexity
  • Web pages read by the built-in reader, Jina, or Cloudflare Browser Rendering
  • Files read by the built-in reader, Jina, or Mistral OCR for scanned PDFs, images, tables and handwriting
  • Any provider can be used only as a fallback when the built-in reader fails
  • Credit rates for each provider, so you can charge for what they cost you
Improvements πŸ”§

More file types in chat

Chat and knowledge sources now accept Excel (XLSX), OpenDocument spreadsheets (ODS), PowerPoint (PPTX), RTF and Markdown. Uploads are checked by their content, admins can set a maximum file size, and large files are read on demand instead of sent to the model whole.

New feature ✨

Ten new interface languages

Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Croatian, Hindi, Indonesian, Kazakh, Nepali, Slovak, Thai and Uzbek, bringing Aikeedo to 40 languages. New languages are off until you enable them under Settings β†’ Languages.

Improvements πŸ”§

Speech and transcription

OpenAI text-to-speech now runs on GPT Realtime 2.1 mini, with new voices; voices from the old models are mapped automatically. Transcription and chat dictation use GPT Transcribe. New transcripts are plain text, so SRT and WebVTT downloads stay available only for transcripts made with Whisper.

Improvements πŸ”§

PHP 8.5 support

Aikeedo now runs on PHP 8.5. PHP 8.2 is still the minimum.

Improvements πŸ”§

Privacy on shared items

Shared chats, library items, assistants, voices and other shared items now include only the creator's name and avatar, never their email address or other account details.

Bug fix πŸͺ²

Bug fixes and improvements

This release also fixes a number of issues, including:

  • Canvas no longer times out while writing long documents, and a dropped stream picks up where it left off
  • MCP App widgets can be up to 8 MB and no longer lose helper tools
  • A conversation title that fails to generate no longer fails the reply
  • The model picker falls back to an available model when the saved one is gone
  • Cron runs each plugin's work separately and names the plugin that fails
  • Updates are now unpacked and finished in two steps, fixing updates from 5.1.2 that stopped halfway
Update Instructions

Back up your files and database before updating.

Update through the admin Update page as usual. Database migrations run automatically. Updating from 5.1.x may show an error once at the end of the upload (for example "Call to undefined method ...Platform::getUnquotedIdentifierFolding()"), because the 5.1 updater can't finish with the libraries updated for PHP 8.5. The new files are already in place: reload the page or open any admin page, and the Update page finishes the update on its own. From the terminal, run php bin/console app:update:finalize.

Cron running cron.php every minute is still the only requirement; it now also works the background queue. A queue worker is optional and makes jobs start faster: see Settings β†’ Queue for ready-made Supervisor and systemd configs.

Web search is off after updating. Choose a provider and add its API key under Settings β†’ Chat, then enable web search in each plan.

Scheduled tasks are off by default. Turn them on under Settings β†’ Chat and set a cap in each plan.

Import GPT 6.1 Terra, GPT 6 Sol and Claude Haiku 5.5 from the model catalog if you want to offer them.

After updating, update every installed plugin.
