Frequently asked questions

Web Search & Files

1.  Which web search providers are supported?

Serper, Jina and Perplexity. You pick one under Settings → Chat and add its API key. See the web search and reading docs.

2.  Can chat read scanned PDFs?

Yes. Choose Mistral OCR or Jina as the file reader, either for every file or only when the built-in reader finds no text.

3.  Are old Excel .xls files supported?

No. Spreadsheets are read in the XLSX and ODS formats.
