| Primary buyer intent | A company builds AI agents for its own support, sales or operations, across chat and messaging channels. | An operator launches a chatbot SaaS where its own subscribers build, train and embed website chatbots. |
| Who pays whom? | You pay Botpress a plan fee, plus conversation packs and AI usage beyond what the plan includes. | Your subscribers pay you. You pay hosting, AI providers and the Aikeedo license with the Chatbots add-on. |
| Hosting and ownership | Botpress Cloud is hosted by Botpress. The open-source v12 is an older on-premise release, separate from the current product. | Self-hosted on your server and domain, with source code. |
| Platform price | A free tier, then paid plans from $150/month, billed annually. | $99/month for Aikeedo Core, or a $1499 one-time Commercial License. Chatbots is an add-on, included in All-Access. |
| AI usage costs | Plans include an AI usage allowance; above it, $10 credit grants are bought automatically, sold at cost. | You pay AI providers directly with your own keys. No usage fee goes to Aikeedo. |
| Branding | White-label webchat, without Botpress branding, on Plus and above. | The whole platform runs under your brand; you decide which plans can remove “Powered by”. |
| Billing your own customers | No subscriber billing on the published plans; the partner program pays referral commission instead. | Subscriptions, credits, top-ups and per-plan chatbot limits, with payment gateways built in. |

For a different goal, yes. Botpress is a hosted platform for building AI agents for your own business, across many channels. Aikeedo is software you run to sell chatbots to your own customers: they sign up, pay you, and build website chatbots under your brand.
Aikeedo has no visual workflow builder, no WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams or other messaging channels, no voice channel, no full helpdesk for human handoff, and no team routing or support analytics. It is self-hosted, so you run the server. If you are building agents for your own company and need those, Aikeedo is not built for that job.
Choose Aikeedo when the chatbot business is yours. You want customers to subscribe, create website chatbots, use credits you define, and remove branding on the plans you choose, all on your own server and domain.
The current Botpress product is a hosted cloud platform. The older open-source Botpress v12 is still published as a separate on-premise release, but it is not the platform described on the Botpress pricing page. Aikeedo is built to be self-hosted, with source code.
Botpress’s published plans have no billing for your own customers; its partner program pays referral commission instead. With Aikeedo, you sell the platform yourself and keep the subscription revenue.
Botpress paid plans start at $150/month, billed annually, with included conversations and AI usage; extra conversations and AI usage are billed on top. Aikeedo Core is $99/month, or a one-time Commercial License is $1499. All-Access, at $799/year, includes the Chatbots add-on. You pay hosting and AI providers directly and set your own prices. See pricing.
Not today. Aikeedo Chatbots are website widgets. If messaging or voice channels are central to your product, Aikeedo may not fit yet.
