Your AI SaaS business, ready by this week!
Try demoAn AI agent is an AI system that works toward a goal in several steps, deciding which tools to use, acting, checking the result and continuing, rather than giving a single reply.
A chatbot answers a message. An agent is given a goal, such as "research these five competitors and summarise their pricing", and loops: plan, call a tool, read the result, decide the next step, until the goal is met.
Agents rely on function calling and on access to tools: web search, files, APIs and, increasingly, MCP servers. The quality of the model’s reasoning decides how reliably it finishes.
Agents can also run without a person watching, on a schedule or in response to an event, which makes them useful for recurring reports and monitoring.
Aikeedo assistants can use tools and MCP connectors in chat, and scheduled tasks run a chat prompt on a schedule, each run in its own conversation.

Function calling, or tool use, lets an AI model ask the app to run a tool, such as a web search, a calculator or an API call, and then use the result in its answer.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI model connect to outside tools and data sources through a common interface, so one connector works with any app that supports the protocol.
An AI assistant is a chat model set up for a specific job, with its own instructions, personality, tools and often a knowledge base, such as a support agent or a legal research helper.
