🚀 Aikeedo v5.2 is now available!

Function calling, or tool use, lets an AI model ask the app to run a tool, such as a web search, a calculator or an API call, and then use the result in its answer.

The app describes the available tools to the model: a name, what each does and the parameters it takes. When the model decides a tool would help, it replies with a structured request instead of text.

The app runs the tool, sends the result back, and the model continues. It may call several tools in a row before giving its final answer.

Tool use is what turns a chatbot into something that can act. MCP standardises how tools are described and connected, so one tool server works across many apps.

Function calling (tool use) in Aikeedo

Chat in Aikeedo uses tool calling for web search, image generation, document reading and MCP connectors, so one conversation can search, read, create and act.
