v5.1 let chat work with the services your users already use. v5.2 lets it work when nobody is watching.
Your users can now hand the AI a job and a schedule β a morning briefing, a weekly summary, a Friday plan β and it runs on its own. When something finishes, fails or needs an answer, a bell and a browser alert say so, even with the app closed. Underneath, a new background queue does the slow work, chat reads the web and scanned documents far better, and checkout collects what businesses need for their records.
Aikeedo v5.2 is live.

Here is everything that is new.
Most of what people ask an AI is not a one-off. They want the same briefing every morning, the same summary every Friday, the same check every month. Scheduled tasks turn that into a setting instead of a habit.
A scheduled task is a set of instructions and a schedule. At the set time, Aikeedo sends the instructions to the assistant as a new chat, as if the user had typed them, and the result lands in their library.
- Schedules people actually use. Once, Daily, Weekdays, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly, at a set time in the user's own timezone, with an optional end date.
- Three ways to create one. Set it up manually, start from a template, or just ask in chat β "send me a summary of AI news every weekday at 8" β and the AI creates the task and shows a card with what it set up.
- Auto or Ask. Auto runs without stopping. Ask lets a run pause for a question or a tool approval, and tells the user it is waiting.
- Full control. Run now, pause, resume, edit, and a history of every run.
- Ten starter templates, from a morning briefing to a weekly meal plan, and admins can add their own.
For operators, scheduled tasks are off until you turn them on under Settings β Features β Chat. Each plan has a Scheduled tasks cap β blank for unlimited, 0 to leave the feature out β and each run is charged like a chat reply. Workspace owners can see and delete every member's tasks.
Read the full walkthrough in Scheduled Tasks in Aikeedo.
Long replies, video renders and scheduled runs all take time, and nobody wants to stare at a spinner. v5.2 adds notifications across the app.
- A bell in the sidebar shows a dot when something new arrives: a reply is ready, an image or video has finished, a generation failed, a chat needs input, or a scheduled task has run.
Ctrl/β + Shift + B opens it.
- Leave the page, keep the reply. Chat replies keep running on the server after the user leaves. A small notice offers Notify me, and the result waits under the bell.
- Browser alerts, even with the app closed. Aikeedo has its own Web Push built in. There is no third-party service to sign up for and no keys to paste β they are generated on first use. Clicking an alert opens the item.
- Users choose. Under Settings β General β Notifications they can switch off response completions, media completions, scheduled tasks or requests for input.
Operators get a new Settings β Notifications page with a switch for browser alerts and how long notifications are kept (30 days once read, 90 days in any case, by default). Browser alerts need your site on HTTPS.

An answer is only as good as what the model can read. v5.2 rebuilds how Aikeedo searches, reads pages and reads files, and lets you choose the service behind each.
- Web search providers. Choose Jina, Serper or Perplexity, set how many results each search returns, and spend fewer tokens on every search: results reach the model as a compact list rather than raw data.
- Web page readers. The built-in reader now keeps tables and paragraphs. Add Jina or Cloudflare Browser Rendering for pages it cannot read, either as a fallback or as the first choice.
- File readers and OCR. Add Jina or Mistral OCR to read scanned PDFs, with tables and handwriting turned into text the model can use.
- More formats. Chat and knowledge sources now accept XLSX, ODS, PPTX, RTF and Markdown, on top of PDF, Word, CSV and the rest.
- The model sees the whole file. Small files go to the model in full. Larger ones are read page by page when the conversation needs them.
- Safer uploads. Every attachment is checked against its actual content, and you can set a maximum file size.
Each new service has its own credit rate, so usage is billed the way everything else is. Everything lives under Settings β Features β Chat.

Scheduled tasks, notifications and invoices all need work to happen outside a page request. v5.2 adds a proper background job queue, and moves everything cron used to do onto a scheduler.
- Cron is still all you need. It runs the system's recurring work each minute and, when no worker is running, works the queue too. That keeps shared hosting fully supported.
- Add a worker for speed. A background worker starts each job the moment it is added. The Settings β System β Queue page generates ready-to-copy Supervisor and systemd configurations with your paths and PHP version filled in.
- See what is happening. The Queue page shows waiting, running and failed jobs, the workers that are running, and every recurring system task with its last run and any error. Failed jobs can be retried or deleted one by one or all at once.
- The Status page warns when cron has stopped, when a system task keeps failing or when jobs fail.
The queue uses your database by default. If you would rather use Redis, Amazon SQS, Azure Queue Storage or Cloudflare Queues, the new Queue Adapters plugin adds them. The queue documentation covers the details.
Business customers need more than a card form. v5.2 makes checkout collect the right details and makes the paperwork that follows a purchase more complete.
- Tax ID and business details. Checkout has an optional tax ID field, and an I'm buying as a business option that asks for a company name and makes the tax ID required.
- Addresses that fit the country. The state, province or region list matches the customer's country, postal codes are asked for only where they are used, and the country is filled in from what Aikeedo already knows β or a Default billing country you set.
- Phone numbers checked. The phone field formats as you type, shows the country flag and rejects numbers that cannot be valid.
- Purchase confirmation email. After a paid order, the workspace owner gets a receipt with the plan, amounts, discounts, tax and payment method.
- Custom currency rates. Under Settings β Exchange β Manage custom rates, set your own rate for any currency. Custom rates always take precedence and are never updated automatically.
Billing also gains an invoicing layer. Invoicing engines are plugins that connect Aikeedo to an invoicing system, and you choose one under Settings β Billing β Invoicing. With one installed, order pages show the invoice with a download button for customers and admins, the purchase confirmation carries the invoice as a PDF, and failed invoices are retried automatically or from the admin panel. Without one, nothing changes. See Payments & Taxes and the invoicing documentation.
Every transactional email now has a home: Settings β Email β Emails.
- Preview any email at desktop or mobile width, rendered with sample data. Nothing is sent.
- Switch off what you do not need: Welcome, Workspace invitation, Purchase confirmation and Invoice ready.
- The essentials stay on. Password reset, email verification and data export cannot be switched off.
Emails that plugins add appear on the same page. More in the emails documentation.
v5.2 keeps the model catalog current:
- Anthropic β Claude Haiku 5.5
- OpenAI β GPT 6.1 Terra and GPT 6 Sol
- Through OpenAI-compatible servers β Gemini 4 Argon, Kimi K3.1 Pro, MiniMax M3.1 Flash, Mistral Large 4 and Qwen 3.8 27B
- fal.ai β Kling 4.0 and Hailuo H3 Max Turbo for video, Nano Banana 2.1 and Krea 3 for images
- Stability AI β SD 3.5 Large, Large Turbo and Medium replace SD3
- ElevenLabs β Eleven v4, Eleven v4 Turbo and Flash v2.5
- Speechify β Simba 3.5 and Simba 3.2
New models are added from Settings β Models with Import models.
Retired from the catalog: GPT 4o, GPT 4o mini, GPT 4.1 and GPT 4.1 mini, Pika 2.2, older Kling and Veo 3.1 models, Perplexity's Sonar Pro models, Groq's Llama models, and older ElevenLabs and Speechify models. Models you already imported stay where they are.
OpenAI voice moves to its replacements ahead of OpenAI's shutdowns:
- Speech now runs on GPT Realtime 2.1 mini instead of TTS 1 and TTS 1 HD, with four new voices β ballad, verse, marin and cedar. Existing voices carry over, and the three that no longer exist map to the closest new one.
- Transcription now uses GPT Transcribe instead of Whisper, for the transcriber, chat dictation and the API. New transcripts are plain text, so timestamps and subtitle downloads are available only for older ones.
Aikeedo now speaks 40 languages. New in v5.2: Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Croatian, Hindi, Indonesian, Kazakh, Nepali, Slovak, Thai and Uzbek. They are off by default β turn on the ones you want under Settings β Languages.
- PHP 8.5 β Aikeedo runs on PHP 8.5, and PHP 8.2 is still supported
- A privacy fix β shared library items, the community gallery, and lists of assistants and voices sent more of the owner's account details to the browser than they needed. They now include only the name and avatar. This is a security fix and a good reason to update soon
- Safer updates β an update now finishes in a separate step that runs only the new code, so changes to bundled packages can no longer break it halfway
- MCP App widgets β larger widgets load, and connectors with many tools no longer lose the ones listed last
- Long Canvas documents β the stream stays open while Canvas writes a long document, even behind proxies that close quiet connections
- Smaller fixes β the model picker falls back to a usable model when the saved one is gone, and a failed chat title no longer fails the reply
Back up your files and database first, then update as usual from the admin panel. Updating from 5.1.x may show an error once at the very end. Reload any admin page and the update finishes. Database migrations run automatically, and there are no new .env variables.
After updating:
- Check cron. Run
cron.php every minute, as the web server user and with the same PHP version as your site. Scheduled tasks, renewals, invoices and queued jobs all depend on it. A background worker is optional.
- Turn web search back on. The search tool has been rebuilt and its old settings do not carry over. Under Settings β Features β Chat, choose a search provider, add its API key, enable web search in your plans and update their snapshots.
- Turn on scheduled tasks under Settings β Features β Chat, set the Scheduled tasks cap on your plans, and import the starter templates from Settings β Starter content.
- Enable new languages under Settings β Languages.
- Review Settings β Email β Emails. The purchase confirmation email is on by default.
- Serve the site over HTTPS so browser alerts work.
The full notes are in the v5.2 release notes, and every change in the v5.2 series, including later point releases, is listed in the v5.2 changelog.
